A 3D presentation of the Galileo satellite navigation system, a joint development by the European Union and European Space Agency. This constellation of satellites will allow users to pinpoint their location anywhere on Earth — their launches commencing on 20 October 2011. Use red/blue 3D glasses to experience the full 3D experience of this clip.
some really good stuff here
@lkaruga Not really. Can you imagine 30 satellites colliding if the surface of the earth was their orbit? Now imagine them orbitting in 3-d space much bigger than earth itself.
wtf,, i got glasses from the cinema to view this in 3d and it doesn’t work
They’ve lost an e in the closing edit. It says “A programme of …”
@TableWolfMusic Galileo will be more accurate then GPS, Europe wanted a own navigation system because USA don’t guarantee the GPS service in a armed conflict and it’s better
So, will existing GPS devices be compatible with this?
Nice!
But what about space trash… They are more than likely to collide with other objects.
It means this sat will replace GPS??
My new GPS phone is useless now :’(
Wow I loved the 3-D video! I would have liked to hear a frank discussion of the differences between this system and GPS, however. Since GPS is already widely used, it’s probably an overstatement to say that this system will “completely change our daily lives”, as the video claims.
I hope the upcoming launch will be a great success. Go Galileo!
sorry for my bad english..
this is including in future Chip in ID card or Passports ? t olocate single person on Earth ?
The 3D from Youtube is not the best…
